Proofpoint acquires Hornetsecurity and Nuclei

In order to strengthen its cybersecurity capabilities, Proofpoint has acquired Hornetsecurity for more than $1 billion, and Nuclei to expand its industry-leading digital communications governance (DCG) solution.
Proofpoint will integrate its human-centric security capabilities with Hornetsecurity's Microsoft 365 security know-how through the acquisition. It will strengthen Proofpoint's standing in the market for small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs).
With the ability to record, save, and evaluate interactions across workspace collaboration platforms including Microsoft Teams, Slack, Zoom, Webex, WhatsApp, and RingCentral Voice, the acquisition of Nuclei will enhance Proofpoint's DCG service.

Zscaler makes Red Canary acquisition

Recently, managed detection and response (MDR) company Red Canary and cloud security provider Zscaler reached a final deal to buy Red Canary.
This partnership will make it possible to create a single, flexible Security Operations Center (SOC) that combines human knowledge with AI-driven processes.
Red Canary has helped its clients streamline operations through automated remediation and investigate risks up to ten times faster with 99.6% accuracy. Zscaler will "redefine how businesses detect, respond to, and mitigate modern cyber threats" by incorporating its vast amounts of high-quality data and worldwide knowledge from its ThreatLabz Research team.​

Check Point acquires Veriti Cybersecurity

Veriti Cybersecurity, the first fully automated, multi-vendor preemptive threat exposure and mitigation platform, is being acquired by Check Point, a leader in cybersecurity solutions.
Check Point Software Technologies CEO Nadav Zafrir stated, "The acquisition of Veriti represents a significant step toward realizing our hybrid mesh security vision." The open-garden methodology of the Infinity Platform is strengthened, allowing for smooth, multi-vendor repair throughout the whole security stack. We are promoting prevention-first, proactive security with Veriti, which is essential in the current AI-driven threat environment.
As part of the Threat Exposure and Risk Management offering, Veriti's capabilities will be integrated into the Check Point Infinity Platform through this acquisition.​

Netrio acquires Agio

Informatica, a provider of enterprise AI-powered cloud data management, has agreed to be acquired by AI CRM, Salesforce, for a significant $8 billion in stock value. Salesforce's reliable data foundation will benefit from the acquisition. Additionally, Salesforce's platform will integrate with Informatica's data catalog, data integration, governance, quality and privacy, metadata management, and Master Data Management (MDM) services to create a unified architecture for agentic AI, allowing AI agents to function safely, responsibly, and at scale throughout the contemporary enterprise.

Alation to acquire Numbers Station

The acquisition of Numbers Station, a startup developing AI agents for data workflows, is an attempt by data intelligence firm Alation to assist businesses in developing AI-driven analytics products.
Through the agreement, Alation will assist businesses in creating and implementing AI-driven analytics solutions that can run autonomously while still keeping context and following appropriate business regulations.​

Ox Security closes Series B at $60 million

 

 

 

 

 

 

With the completion of a $60 million Series B round led by DTCP and including participation from IBM Ventures, Microsoft, Swisscom Ventures, Evolution Equity Partners, and Team8, Ox Security, a company that models risk across both AI- and human-produced code, announced on Wednesday that it had raised a total of $94 million.​

Leading Identity Security and Identity Governance solutions provider Clarity Security is pleased to announce the successful closing of its $9.0 million Series A round, which was led by early-stage venture capital firm Venture Guides, which has a stellar track record of success. Silverton Partners continued to participate in the round, making this their third investment in Clarity Security.
The only Identity Governance and Administration (IGA) solution for hybrid settings in the world, Clarity Security offers clients full installation in a matter of days as opposed to years. Clarity Security is advancing its goal of allowing identity-focused compliance, security, and automation for all businesses with the help of its recently raised funding.

Cyera Funding Round Doubles Valuation To $6 Billion

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Cyera, a rapidly expanding data security business, has increased its valuation to $6 billion and obtained a sizable new investment round as it seeks to expedite its work with channel partners. Cyera reported in November 2024 that it had raised $300 million in fresh capital at a $3 billion valuation, the startup's second such fundraising effort of the year.
In an interview with CRN in late April, Rogers, who most recently worked at Palo Alto Networks, stated that he is joining Cyera to assist partners in seizing the enormous prospects surrounding facilitating AI adoption for their clients.

Impart Security Raises $12M in Series A Funding

 

 

 

 

 Impart Security, an AI security platform provider situated in San Francisco, California, secured $12 million in Series A funding. Madrona Ventures led the investment, with 8-Bit Capital and CRV also participating. Managing Director Karan Mehandru of Madrona joined the board as a result of the funding.
Infrastructure providers, healthcare, and financial services are the three main corporate sectors into which the company hopes to expand more quickly with the grant.
